Grunt doesn't allow you to remove single shapes in the traditional sense (that is, by selecting and deleting them). In Grunt, you have to change where the shape rule is applied. To remove a shape from a cell, you can add that cell to the Exclude list of your rule. If your shape resides in an empty cell, your best bet is to add the Empty cell target to your Exclude list.
