Connect any chart to your Excel data

Integrating Excel data into your PowerPoint charts using Grunt is straightforward and efficient. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you seamlessly connect your data to any chart.

Method 1: Using the Clipboard

  1. Copy Data from Excel:

    • Open your Excel file.
    • Select the data range you want to link.
    • Copy the selected data (Ctrl + C or right-click and choose "Copy").
  2. Insert Chart in PowerPoint:

    • Open PowerPoint and go to the slide where you want to insert the chart.
    • In the Grunt ribbon, click on the "Charts" option.
    • Choose the specific chart type you want to use. The data on your clipboard will automatically be linked to the chart.

  3. Automatic Updates:

    • The specific cell reference from Excel is used as a path.
    • When changes are made to these cells in the future, Grunt will prompt you to update the chart with the new data.

Method 2: Replacing Data


  1. Replace Data in Grunt:

    • Click on the "Excel Connection" option.
    • Select the "Bulls eye " button.
  2. Confirm Data Replacement:

    • Click "OK" after selecting your cell range in Excel.
    • An "Update" button will appear in Grunt.
  3. Update Chart:

    • Click the "Update" button to replace the existing data with the new data from Excel.

By following these steps, you can ensure your PowerPoint charts are always up-to-date with the latest data from your Excel sheets. This integration allows for efficient data management and seamless presentations.
