      Why Is My Font Not Displayed Correctly in Grunt? (Variable Fonts Issue)

      If Grunt is not displaying your Theme Font correctly and is replacing it with another font while marking the Theme Font as "". In this example we will cover the font Montserrat, but this is true for several fonts.

      Solution

      If your font includes a static folder, you will need to install the fonts from this folder instead of the Variable Font files.

      Steps to Fix the Issue

      1. Check your font files

        • If you have downloaded the font as a ZIP file, extract the contents and look for a folder named "static".
        • If the folder exists, open it, you should see multiple font files (e.g., Montserrat-Regular, Montserrat-Bold, Montserrat-Italic, etc.).

      2. Install the static font files

        • Select all the TrueType font (.ttf) files in the static folder.
        • Right-click and choose Install.

      3. Restart PowerPoint

        • Close and reopen PowerPoint to ensure the new fonts are recognized.
        • Test applying the font manually in a text box.

      4. Reapply Theme Font in Grunt

        • If the font was missing in Grunt before, try refreshing your PowerPoint theme or reapplying the Master Template.
        • Grunt should now correctly detect and use the Theme Font instead of replacing it with a fall back font.

      Additional Notes

      • Not all fonts have a static folder, but if you encounter similar font issues, check if your font download includes one.
      • If the font still does not display correctly after following these steps, verify that the static fonts are installed properly and not conflicting with previously installed variable fonts.

      By following these steps, you should be able to resolve font display issues in Grunt and ensure that your Theme Fonts are recognized correctly.
