Character style rule

Change the appearance of your text, like font family, size, and color.

This rule lets you change the appearance of your text. It is called character style rule because it affects the way individual characters are rendered. This is a good way to change how your text is styled.

Rules can be searched for using their aliases. Aliases for this rule include "Font", "Bold", "Italic", "Underline", "Strikethrough", "Size", "Style" and "Color".

When to use it

You should use the character style rule when you want to change the look and feel of your text in a consistent way. It is also a great tool if you want to dynamically style your text according to some criteria, e.g. to ensure that the first line of your text is automatically made bold. If you just want to make some quick, static changes to your text, consider whether you should use Static text formatting instead.

What can you change

Color

This setting lets you update the color of your text.

How automatic mode works

When the mode is set to automatic, the text color is selected by Grunt to make it as readable as possible. If your background is light, the text color will become dark. If your background is dark, the text color will become light.

Font

This is where you choose which font family (typeface), font size, and text style you want to use. The latter lets you choose between normal, bold, italic, and underlined text, in addition to text that is strikethrough.
